Dr. Wilson is an effective professional developer with an ability to provide educators and policy-makers with concise clear explanations of complex measurement concepts and how to interpret and use student data to improve student learning.


Dr. Wilson joined Dr. Nancy Grasmick in the Office of the Presidential Scholar at Towson University where they work together to spark innovation in teacher and leader preparation programs.

She began her career at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Office of Medical Education, and then spent the rest of her career in Pre-K-12 public education sharing her expertise in design and implementation of assessments, accountability, data analysis, use of data for instructional decision-making, and policy.

Guided by her passion to support classroom teachers by empowering them to understand and use assessment and data effectively, she has authored two books and given numerous national presentations.

Dr. Wilson received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County; her Master’s Degree in Community Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland
